Getting my game face on
Two weeks from today, I plan to get in my car and drive to Tulsa. From Tulsa I'll fly to Phoenix for the marathon.
This weekend, I'm doing a half-marathon Sunday afternoon with a 7-mile run beforehand. It's a way, I think, to have one last long run before the race with lots of other people around. Hopefully it should be a good time.
And then it's time to taper before the race. I'm starting to get more and more excited.

Brian, I cannot run today for reasons related to my fallout of the past three years of not being a good friend. I'm going to do one thing right in 2006 and it's going to be giving this weekend up to those I love and have expressed wont to party like it's 1999. I figure, eh. I'm young. I have a career that really needs retooling and focus. I have plenty of time to run and after an analysis of my training log(s) of 2006 have decided: 1756 miles of running, 714 miles of swimming and well over 2000 miles of bicycling deserves a few drinks, a load off and maybe a chance to swing by and watch you win your age division, or better yet, the entire half marathon. I'll be thinking of you and sorry that I can't be there to bask in your glory :) But whatever comes of the day, please be careful, drink responsibly, enjoy the day off with friends and a good solid meal and if you get in a pinch and need a ride, give me a call....we'll surely be nearby should that happen : HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Watch me win my age division?
HA!
