I won the poetry slam
I'd so much like to win a road race. I'd like to win. We'll see when and if that ever happens.
But once again, I won a poetry slam. I won the poetry slam tonight!
I'm competitive and I love to win.
I started out in the first round with my new poem, When did you stop believing? Or maybe I should just call it, The Santa Claus poem.
It was good enough to win.

For a freelance gig yesterday, I photographed a 5K/1 mile run that was being held as part of the MO Bar's annual meeting here in town. (It was apparently lawyers-only, or I'd have definitely steered rslight towards it.)
It was a fairly small event, but recognized the guy who won as a local runner I've seen at races. Just after he crossed the finish line he said two things:
1. That's the first time he's ever won a road race, ever; and
2. It was his slowest time in the last 5 years.
You'll win a race some day, probably when you aren't expecting it.
Congrats on the slam.
I did like your poem.
Congrats on the slam.
Among poems featuring Santa Claus and nudity, yours is easily the best. Fun stuff.
